Adult Reading Challenge 2025

Join the Adult Reading Challenge (ARC), a new yearlong reading challenge for any adult over 18!


Use a bookmark (can be picked up at the Adult and Teen Services Desk) or ReadSquared to track your reading of 12 different prompts throughout the year, and pick up a prize from the Adult and Teen Services Desk after you complete each prompt. Log with your bookmark and on ReadSquared between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

Each month the ARC Team will highlight a different prompt and send out emails with suggestions and highlights for the month, including related programming or events at the library. Read a novella during the shortest month (February), celebrate an author’s first book with the first month of the year, or complete the challenges in any order!


Check ReadSquared for book lists and recommended reading from your DGPL librarians. Once you complete all 12 prompts, come to the Adult and Teen Services Department for your grand prize!


All prizes can be picked up starting February 1, 2025.

Join the 2026 Adult Reading Challenge (ARC), a yearlong reading challenge for any adult over 18!

Readers will read 12 books that complete different prompts throughout the year. Read at your own pace, and finish the prompts in whatever order you'd like.

Use a bookmark (can be picked up at the Adult and Teen Services Desk) or ReadSquared to track your reading of 12 different prompts throughout the year, and pick up a prize from the Adult and Teen Services Desk after you complete each prompt.

Beginning February 1st, 2026, patrons may claim a themed magnet at the ATS desk for each prompt completed. When you finish all prompts, you’ll be entered to win one of 12 prize baskets, each themed around a different prompt from the year.

Any adult 18 and over is invited to participate- no DGPL card is required! All prizes must be picked up in person. Log with your bookmark and on ReadSquared between January 1 and December 31, 2026.
